SMS Terms & Messaging Policy
Effective date: July 7, 2026
This SMS Terms & Messaging Policy explains how WrenchDeck uses SMS text messages. It applies to everyone who receives a text message from a WrenchDeck-operated phone number. This page is referenced in our Privacy Policy and Terms of Service. For details on how consent is collected, see our SMS Opt-in page.
1. Who sends these messages
SMS messages are sent by WrenchDeck, a web-based repair-shop management tool used by independent auto and truck repair shops. Messages are delivered through Twilio, our telecommunications provider, from a phone number registered to WrenchDeck.
2. What we send
WrenchDeck sends only transactional service messages that a shop or client has explicitly requested. We do not send marketing or promotional SMS. Categories include:
- Job-ready notifications: when a repair shop marks a customer’s vehicle as complete, an SMS notifies the customer that their truck or trailer is ready for pickup, with an invoice summary.
- Invoice notifications: when the shop sends or marks an invoice as overdue, an SMS with a secure link to view the invoice may be sent to the customer.
- Appointment and service reminders: reminders for scheduled service, inspections, or follow-ups the shop has agreed to send.
- Remote VIN-capture links: when a shop technician needs to scan a VIN or take a vehicle photo from their own phone, WrenchDeck sends the technician a short, single-use link to the technician’s own phone number.
- Account and security messages: two-factor authentication codes, password-reset alerts, and account security notifications.
3. How you opt in
Consent is collected inside the WrenchDeck application before any SMS is sent:
- Shop customers are added by the shop, which is required to confirm the customer has agreed to receive SMS. Inside the app, each client record has an “SMS consent” toggle that the shop must enable, and a phone number in valid E.164 format. If either is missing, SMS is blocked at the application layer.
- Shop staff and technicians opt in by saving their mobile number in their user profile.
- Shop account holders opt in when they configure their business phone number during onboarding.
By opting in, the recipient agrees to receive automated SMS from WrenchDeck at the phone number provided. Consent is not a condition of purchase. Message and data rates may apply.
4. Message frequency
Frequency varies and is driven entirely by shop activity. A typical customer receives between 1 and 6 messages per repair job (for example: appointment reminder, job-complete alert, invoice, invoice-overdue reminder). Some customers may receive fewer; some may receive more if they have multiple active jobs.
5. How to stop receiving messages
You can opt out at any time by replying STOP, END, CANCEL, UNSUBSCRIBE, or QUIT to any WrenchDeck SMS. You will receive one confirmation message and then no further messages, except in response to security or two-factor codes you actively request.
To opt back in, reply START or UNSTOP, or ask the shop to re-enable SMS on your client record inside the app.
6. Getting help
Reply HELP to any WrenchDeck SMS to receive contact information. For account issues, email support@wrenchdeck.com.
7. Carriers and delivery
WrenchDeck is not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your mobile carrier and device. Supported U.S. carriers include AT&T, Verizon, T-Mobile, Sprint, U.S. Cellular, and most regional carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Privacy
Phone numbers and SMS delivery metadata are handled as described in our Privacy Policy. WrenchDeck does not sell, rent, or share mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. Phone numbers are shared only with Twilio to deliver the message, and only for the messages listed in Section 2.
9. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated “Effective date.”
