SMS Opt-in
Effective date: July 7, 2026
WrenchDeck only sends SMS text messages to people who have given clear consent. This page explains how consent is collected for each type of recipient. For full messaging terms, see our SMS Terms & Messaging Policy.
1. Shop customers opt in inside the app
When a repair shop adds a new customer in WrenchDeck, the shop owner or employee must confirm the customer has agreed to receive SMS messages. Consent is captured on the New Client screen before any text is sent.
Exact consent language shown in the app:
“Client has consented to receive SMS invoice and overdue reminders. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time.”
- •The shop must toggle the “SMS consent” switch to enable messaging.
- •A valid E.164 mobile number is required. If either is missing, the app blocks the send.
- •Consent is not a condition of purchase or service.
2. Technicians and staff opt in via their profile
Shop employees who receive remote VIN-capture links or job notifications save their mobile number in their WrenchDeck user profile. Saving the number confirms they consent to receive transactional SMS from the shop.
3. Opt-out and help
Recipients can reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe immediately. They can reply HELP for assistance or contact the shop that sent the message. Once a recipient opts out, WrenchDeck prevents the shop from sending further SMS to that number.
Need to update your preferences? Log in to your WrenchDeck account or ask the shop that invited you to update your client record. If you are not a WrenchDeck user and received an unwanted message, reply STOP to opt out instantly.
